This is the best picture I've yet found of the underside of the case:
I'm hoping that the pronounced feet will locate it fore-aft on the roof bars, and then the Thule 314 load feet will restrain it side-to-side:
Peli are extremely good at publishing CAD files for the inside of their cases - and do absolutely nothing for the outside, as far as my discussion with the UK stockist got me anyway.
That resulted in:

28.359" is 720mm, although the accuracy is spurious because I'm measuring from an estimated point on the inside and hoping that that reflects what's on the outside.
I'm just waiting for measurements from the roof rack to find out if the case and the roof rack are going to play nicely together, or be frustratingly "close but no cigar".

Fitted. It's like a different car. Four modes, off, city, sport and sport+. There is not enough traction to even use sport+ without being veeeery light on the pedal.

What model is it? There is a peli stockist in Brixton, so if they have one it can be measured.
You could give them a call. Or too far out of the way?

Need a new car. Is it silly to spend £15-20k on a lower mileage Volvo V70 or xc70from 2016? They’ve gone up in price a lot recently here.
The alternative would be a 3 year old v90, price around £25-30k.
Heart says xc70, but £15k and up for an 8 year old car feels ridiculous

How long do you want to keep it?
They run forever and a week so if you look after it it could easily work out at £1000 a year.

As long as it makes financial sense. Sold my previous v70 at 260k miles as the heating system gave up, was too costly to fix.
I know they last ages but still, feels way overpriced

I’d love a V70R but I live on a narrow street and parking’s bad enough as it is with the golf…

I sold a low mileage 2017 V90 in 2022 for £18k. Clearly I got mugged!

Dunno about uk pricing, but here in Sweden it’s ridiculous. I’ve seen 2016 xc70 go for well north of £20k

Agree. More about finding the right seller

Also, assume everyone is lying and there is something wrong with the car, or they're ignorant. Always something to fix.
I bought the cheapest outback for this reason left me a good wedge to fix the issues. -
• #78366
Don’t really have time or knowledge to fix stuff though, so kinda thinking they’re too old for my needs. Shame as I really like them
-
• #78367
Oh don't don't buy one. I just mean it's how I bought.
I looked at an xc70 the day before buying my outback, it was a bit of a dog sadly. -

Currently looking at XC70 with the T6 engine. 300bhp and most importantly for me not diesel (short journeys) but yes a 2012 goes for around 12k, so not set on buying one yet.

How easy/difficult is importing
-
• #78370
Pretty straightforward from the eu. But the Swedish krona is weak at the moment so everything abroad is super expensive. Think this is driving up prices as well, cars are sold for export

Swapped all my number plates around today, I couldn't get my head around it but fortunately a very understanding woman at the Dept of Transport walked me through it. I didn't even have to flutter my eyelashes. 💅🏼
So I've just ordered these plates for the Forester. 🇯🇵🎎🍶🗼🗾
Me, a tart? Never!! 🤣

Can you 'slain a Subaru?
Just had WeChillAnyCar round (7am appointment!!!), forgot how easy it was to deal with them. Half the refrigerant was gone and no oil in the AC. All topped up now, with antibac service etc. Just in time for the temperature to plummet...

They're cosplay Japanese plates on a cosplay STi! It's a shame you can't pick your Japanese text, already had that all planned but no dice. Front says "Japan", rear says "Japanese Domestic Market", pretty dry.

Did the boys do the turbo for you ?
