Cor, that looks like it’s had a long hard life outdoors! If you want a new OEM box, I’m 99% sure that London Green Cycles stock them for those, or at least they can get them 👍

Jonny I think they call it a rat rod :D
It was used to ferry bikes and bits between two shops in the city, so the bones are good it’s just the body that’s wanting. Good shout on the buck, but I think I’ll make a custom one. As there are plans as always. -

Helping a friend move, best way to protect the bike is to carry the bike on a bike?

Disc brakes for sure. Not sure how I'd stop it without them.

Love that colour for an Omnium! I have only ever seen one in the uk. Did you buy it from a guy called Tom?

Rose gold? I wasn’t sure but it’s certainly grown on me. Complements the Purple Sparkle Brompton 😂
And yea indeed I did!

Welcome to the club. Now to complete your entry you need to load as much s*** as possible into it and ride around being sure to take photos in-front of a decent coffee or pastry place, bonus point for children or dogs (Don't have to be yours, can just find some of the street) burried underneath the stuff.
For the box, just sand it and varnish or wax it, paint it if you want but will likely flake off unless you have high level prep skills. Or keep as is, like a form of anti theft ;)

Looks like you have already found a solution but for reference we just got one of these Ridgeback Butchers for a customer, it's about 1/3rd of the price on an electric Omnium so with that in mind here's what we've noticed just from a set up point of view:
Cons- battery charging set up is a lot less clear than Bosch or Shimano, i.e. there's no charging bars or similar
- it's heavy
- the rails around the rack are quite flimsy
- there's no cap for the front rack head tube so it looks really ugly without the rack on it
- you can't turn the cranks whilst the bike is on its stand
- the lights aren't wired very well so we rerouted it
- the battery mount is quite flimsy
Pros - it has walk assist
- it has lights
- decent shimano components for the money
- built in euro lock
- battery is hidden
Overall it's not a bad option for the money, especially as it costs less than a non electric Omnium but if you've ridden an Omnium, you can definitely tell the difference by a mile

Got to say that sounds perfect for trips to the pub and a bit of shopping. Thanks for the input.

Thank you,
Fear not there will be plenty of dog carrying content and I’ll also document my skip driving antics. A new box is on the cards if Dolly takes to the rides.

Enough of Dolly’s bike.
I have a question;
I friend makes party size cakes and needs to deliver them from one site to another across Norwich. At the moment they use their car, but due to things are needing to get another one just for this task. Chatting to them it’s a 3 mile trip and involves waiting on double yellows. Today I rode the trip and it’s actually only 1/2 mile! They need to move 6 to 8 cakes twice a week. Any suggestions on a suitable bike? Is there any tax advantages available or a green grant etc?? I’m even thinking about maybe a pull along electric cart, but I’m not sure if they are legal and boy are they expensive new.
Thanks all, I wasn’t sure where to ask.

Get them to try out the council's cargo bike hire initiative

Good spot! I thought that had finished, I’ve seen them the link. Cheers.

No problem, we're in an area with loads and loads of dog owners who like to take them to the beach, so to non 'cyclists' they definitely appeal at that price.
Personally I wouldn't attempt to carry a child on it but yeah for pub runs, shopping and per transportation it would definitely do the job.

Dont know if this is the right place to ask, but a friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks in Stoke Newington and needs to cargo bike to ship stuff around.
Is there anyone in north london that has a large Bucket Bike or ideally cargo trike they would be willing to loan?
Or know of a place that could be rented?
Cheers

If you haven't found a replacement yet this shop has spares:
https://more-cargobike.de/en/products/frontbugel-load-75I tried to fix mine when it snapped but ultimately had to go with full replacement.

is this a good price for tern HSD? I think it's maybe a Gen 1 hence the cheapness. I could get in on cycle to work which makes it cheaper than second hand ones https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Tern/HSD-P9-Electric-Cargo-Bike/Y59E
So this has happened
