Warning! - Home Delivery Network and or Yodel - Do not use!

Currently having the displeasure of XDP being in charge of delivering a parcel from Aldi.

Notifications all over the place, due to be deliveryed between 3 and 5pm on Thursday, drop number 32 - app didn't update again after drop 31 at 4.30pm.

Then got notified it was delivered and signed for at 5.47am yesterday - but something seems a bit off about the photo taken - can you tell..?!

For what it's worth, later at 9am is was updated again as in the delivery depot (you can only see this on the desktop website, the mobile one still says it's been delivered.

Have chased up Aldi in the hope that they can sort it and/or it just turns up at some point.

I’m waiting for some paint from Little Greene who are using Fast Logistics and they have failed to deliver in the 9-1pm time slot twice now despite me waiting for it until 6pm as was told “it’s on its way”I had a phone call at 9:45pm last night from the courier saying he was outside but that’s not helpful if you are not at the property.

Not sure where the ‘Fast’ comes into it?

Fucking UPS. In order to change delivery details and access detailed tracking you have to create an account now (and the process seems fucked as it was determined I was in the United States).

Fucking UPS. Delivery didn't happen on the day it was meant to due to some unspecified delay. Delivery was meant to happen today but they claimed no-one was in whilst my girlfriend was sat in the living room. Their depot is bloody miles away too.

Attempted to actually speak to someone via the chatbot shit and it is also fucking useless:

Do they not leave it at a parcel drop shop if your not in?

That's what happens here when they drive straight past my flat without stopping and then tell me I wasn't home.

Used to be a nice newsagent that was dead handy, nice pedal away or had parking right outside if I wanted to drive round, now they dump them at a phone repair place (aka shitty vape shop) where there's no parking, the staff seem to hate doing parcel stuff and where I definitely need to lock up if I ride there.

I actually chose to buy spokes from Spa last time instead of Cycle Basket even though they were a bit dearer as I couldn't be fucked with it.

I had DX do the drive away and say they couldn't find the address thing this morning. I was in the garage, heard the van so poked my head out, saw it was them, nodded 'hello' to the driver but as he was struggling to turn his ginormous van in our tiny carpark I didn't want to just watch him so went back to what I was doing thinking I'd pop out again wen he parked up but he just drove off.

Normally if they find their way around to the car park its sorted, UPS just drive past the front of the block. Especially thought it was going to be fine as I acknowledged the guy.

It was one that had to be signed for.

The tracking website then changed to "The delivery will be rescheduled as soon as possible and the delivery date will be updated soon" and stayed that way until it was actually delivered.

Yodel nearly went bust today but have been taken over/merged with Shift who I've never heard of.

I don't need these companies in my life. And due to having time, very few interests, and an addiction to charity shops and car boot sales, they are not.

I feel very lucky

Finally decided to order an upgrade for my crappy fan and got one of those air coolers you fill with ice water. Seems awfully likely the Yodel driver has decided to steal it cos he suddenly marked it as delivered while their driver tracker showed him in Edmonton miles from my flat. Naturally there's no easy way to flag this on Yodel's site or in the app, so I've had to message the company who sold it. I was already resigned to not actually getting it today cos I could see he had loads of stops left and had blown past the delivery window, but that is taking the piss.
Edit: this got dropped in on Sunday morning so I guess maybe the driver just wanted to keep up his 'delivery' numbers with Yodel and not be penalised, which is pretty sad.
