so how much of a ballache would this be for me to fix myself and is it worth it or do we just pay a man?
also best approach to replacing it?

Looking good, nice & neat job!
Which paint did you use?

Ok why would an eggshell finish paint not stick the previously painted doors and frames.
What can I do, apart from scraping, to remove the paint. Then repaint. Any eggshell finish paints to do skirting boards and doors in a kitchen.

I think it's more something you can tell us (about what you did or didn't do) as opposed to us stabbing in the dark. 1) I cleaned it down with furniture polish before painting 2) excessive grease cooking bike hand chip whatever 3) I didn't rub down to key.. even if you're taking the paint from oil to w/b most won't fail without their specific undercoat, I can't think of a paint that I'd say is especially susceptible to this.

is the current/previous paint solvent-based and/or gloss? might just not have a good key?
perhaps scuff it up with some wet & dry?

Get the GF to organise and pay someone to fix

It's incredibly easy to do yourself and you will save a good hundred quid or more on labour. Get on YouTube to watch videos about replacing uPVC window units and make your mind up yourself. For me it was definitely worth doing it myself. I'd recommend buying some tools and just be careful with the very sharp moon knife.

https://amzn.eu/d/8RnQ95rAnd some window packers of various thickness in case you decide you need to add or change any.

And I used https://www.sealedunitsonline.co.uk/regular/default_mob.aspx for the double glazed unit but I had very specific needs for things like leading, so do shop around online a bit. I would recommend this company of they wind up being reasonable for your needs, though.

Where do you get your tiling supplies? Any shops / any specific brands?
Tiles are: 209 x Porcelain (240X60X10MM) kind of mishmash finish ones.
It's for an area in kitchen so presume I need:
adhesive (waterproof? It'll be behind sink and on an exterior wall)
grout (pale green paint, mid green tiles, dark green units, white upstand and surface, white sills- so presume white grout to match upstand but who tf knows.Am presuming grout and adhesive can come pre-mixed - don't mind paying extra if so as can't be bothered with having half a sack of leftover powder for some potential future job.
spacers
float?
trim (what kind - corner/tile to wall/presume there are different types based on where it's going? what material - metal/plastic/other - what's the difference? Why would I choose one over other? The windows are recessed and presume there'll be tiles on the main wall, then on the inside vertical of the window recess, but not the inside horizontal part as that's where the sill is. Tiling only going halfway up the window)
Do I need a wedge? What are crosses for - to take the place of spacers?
trowel - with notches on one side?
other gadgets ? anything that'll make it more likely I won't make a mess of it (never tiled before, 38m, don't hate me)
cutter - prefer the look of a scoring wheel if the technique of score against metal ruler / stick a pencil under it and force down is legit/achievable (I have 20% spare). i.e. I don't think I want a big electric or manual thing that's going to take up space in a cupboard for the next 15 years. If a scoring wheel, what size -8mm? 18mm? Why would I opt for a specific size?
grout finisher? (Saw a video of someone running a little ball thing along the grout which gave consistent depth to the finish)
Anything I'm missing? Assume I have literally nothing else. Most likely will be vertical rather than horizontal but let's see.

No idea what happened as this was done by a professional. The paint bought was an eggshell finish and no idea what paint it was.
I'm just having to rectify it.

As you can see in the picture, hopefully, the paint peels off in parts like thin plastic/latex
Any sanding makes it worse as it feels and clogs the paper up. Tried with b&d mouse detail sander as that it the only one that I can fit a Henry too for dust extraction.

[they need to know their work failed, even if they don't give a monkeys, they need to stop doing it]
This is a right pain to rectify, it mostly looks like lack of key (this may not be the case all over) and shite paint. This is a technique I've never used but if you have a small amount of duck tape (or the stickiest in the house) that maybe enough to take it off - or lessen some of the pain.. -

I've got these tiles in my kitchen, diy type cutter did not work, builder used an electric thing in the end.

Very good to know, thank you... Will likely hire something instead of buy in that case.

Pro tip: when it's the end of the day and you're tired, don't hold the circular saw with one hand while gently pulling backwards.

Will give it a go.
Thank you.
Now what paint rollers, brushes and paint to get.

I just did my first tiling project, made a planter from tile backer board and tiled it.
You'll need a bucket and a drill and a mixing paddle also..
Tiling sponge for cleaning the grout was also handy.
These kind of tiles were all held together using a kind of webbing, so could cut to size easily. But for some I just used a 4 inch grinder with a masonry blade, cut it like butter.

I’m bonding some brick slips to cement board - only they’re not real brick slips, they’re bricks I’ve cut in 40mm widths. Am I best of using cement or tile adhesive? And would it be a good idea to use a slurry primer?

Quite pleased with my 3D printed shelf construction, fancied an alternative to fixing battens to the walls and building around them.
Somehow neglected to take any photos of the shelf assembly. It's a pretty standard box thing with 18x28mm timber and 6mm MDF.

Not my area of expertise at all, but I imagine the main benefit of tile adhesive (which is a form of cement) over regular cement would be how quickly it goes off allowing you to secure to the surface easier..

This looks great! Did you panel the interior or just staple the lining membrane straight to the frame?
