Interesting
Sorry for derailing the conversation. Rawland bikes are cool.

I have a pair of these Ergon gp1 grips and when I'm riding the outside of the palm of my hand is resting on the plastic bit with the bolt.
Is this normal or are my hands too big for these grips or so?

What's happening with those levers?

Which size of these grips do you have?
Which size are your gloves (to indicate the size of you hands).
I have the same grips on several bikes, cannot recall that I have noticed what you describe.

Large grips and XXL gloves, this is the biggest size from Ergon...

You could get the GS1 instead of the GP1

Modified hydro mtb brakes. Classic lfgss build.
Read all about it here:

This is normal for my XXL gloved hands on those grips.
I find them incredibly comfortable.

Bought a basket and a bag for my partners bike, but they didn't want it, took my Rando bag instead... So now I've got the basket and bag, and its absolutely fantastic. Had one before for a while and forgot how useful they are.
Accessible on the ride, super easy on/off, loads of space for Cinnamon Swirls, back pocket for phone storage. Love it.

GP1 are recommended for bars with 30deg backsweep or less. GC1 are recommended for bars with more. Sounds like your setup might be better suited to the GC1

Beautiful bike

Unf. Why did Specialized stop making the AWOL, are they stupid?

Whats the bag?

On baskets, anyone used voilee straps to hold a basket on successfully?
Using zip ties, but would like the option to remove basket from time to time without wasting plastic.
-
• #27642
Re usable zip ties?
-
• #27643
Yep. Use a couple of straps for a bit and with fairly light loads. Didn't die, but was half expecting someone to steal the basket/straps.
-
• #27644
Yes probably a better idea. Do they work, as in not come loose etc?
@atk - ah cool. Did you attach like this? I came across this on bike packing, and wondered if the basket would not move around loads?
If the reviewer is using just those on the heavier french basket / WW bag I'd assume it'd be quite safe.
Edit - just saw they have a sneaky zip tie at the front!!

I use things I now discover are called terry clips. About 6 are cable tied to the wire of the basket and they clip to the tubes of the rack. Means I can yank the basket up to remove and take with me. Fine for around town cruising, but if you're taking your basket off-road they might lose grip over a big bump.

Yup, they're great!

Pretty much. It was a hurried setup meant for one errand but lasted a month or so. I had an additional strap around the tombstone. Didn't notice any movement.

Because the Marin Four Corners is much cheaper?
-
• #27649
Don't think they were. Both around £1000 I think, and you don't get the racks and fenders like you did with the AWOL if I recall.
Nothing against Four Corners though, I'd happily have one.

Four Corners is a sleeper hit.
Rawland are from Minnesota USA where the American football team called the Vikings. The fans chant "skol" after scoring. It seems to be a tradition and the impression is that they believe "skoll" to have been a viking war cry.
