Damn! Very glad it wasn’t a successful theft despite no lack of effort on their part it seems. Makes me even more dubious about our cellar set up in Berlin with the compartments being made of ancient rotting wood that could probably be pulled apart without breaking a sweat. What insurance do you/will you have?

I have to say it held up better than hoped, the fucker was the front door lock being broken and the basement door being left unlocked. I'm going to pester house management for the front door to be repaired ASAP because it's been broken on and off for the last 4 years. Not sure on insurance, Laka seems to be the big one but expensive. Maybe I can add it to our Hausratversicherung but their idea of the value of the bike probably doesn't quite align with mine.

I have bikes up to 2500€ (3000€?) in my Hausrat with Allianz, also insured outside when locked to something. Not had to claim yet, so no idea if a picture and list of parts will work out, but have been told it would.
