Today started off with an attempted bike theft which made me miss my booked train, to what would have been a lovely ride around Jena, due to a police visit and general stress, don't recommend.
With worryingly little fiddling (they got scarily close and I'll have to rethink bike storage + insurance) I managed to free my bike from behind the mangled door and headed out for a local loop instead.
I spotted a deer, a pheasant, a common redstart (my first, I usually see the black redstart here). Had a road-side lemonade. Came home absolutely tattered. About to run a bath and read a book to unwind.
