  • On a metal fork like that, the mounting points will be brazed in, so there would be no difference in strength between internal or external mounting points.
    However those mounting points would have been put there for mounting mudguards, not a rack. The only very small concern would be that that fork has not been tested with the weight of a rack and luggage in mind. If you are not near the max weight limit of the bike, and ride sensibly, then don't worry at all, you'll be fine mounting a rack on there. If you're >100kg, want to put 20kg of stuff on the rack and ride like a prat then you may have some durability issues.
