Don't tell? All my surveys have been Zoopla based so how would they know if it's better or worse?

anyone got a east london window cleaner recco?

In extremis your local Jehovah's Witnesses will almost invariably have several window cleaners amongst the congregation.
You won't necessarily get one who's keen to chat to you about the whole JW thing. Many only remain in the church because they were raised in it and there's huge social pressure not to leave. We have 4 ex-JW friends, the lads used to do window washing as did many of their associates - easy cash job with no qualifications needed. They would go to work to avoid the door-knocking.
That being said, you might still get one who's keen. -

Struggling to get a builder to come round, which is first step of sorting leak through insurance.
Was thinking on my cycle today, could it be to do with the two lots of scaffolding we've had up in recent years? Scaffolders definitely drilled into the the rendered wall for fixings, and just filled holes with random filler afterwards. Isn't going to help necessarily, but I am curious, is that normal scaffolding practice? Did ask the company about it at the time and they said it was standard/necessary

They always make holes. and I remember more than once thinking that it can't be the best to happen to an old wall.

Missed this. Will do. Trying to get a builder round to look at the moment too as first part of insurance claim.
Is the wet light also one in the bathroom?

This is amazing

It's beautifully tasteful and they've really worked at making it look amazing, but it also brings out all my class war instincts.

I know why they didnt, but its a shame they kept the ugly box on the front and didnt restore the orignal frontage. Always makes me a bit sad to see so many shops in london were once nice frontages/gardens that covered with a later box. It was done really well for Malpaquet House

Yeah, that ugly old shop front is probably 10sq meters of floor space - that space is probably worth £500k alone in Barnsbury!

Love that row of houses, shit area of London but that building is so nice.
Sleeping on a torture rack is certainly a flex.

The only thing distasteful is the price. Ha

Carpenters benches rather than a torture rack.
They look in really good condition

Obviously never slept in.
How many times do you smack your shin/knee before you buy a proper bed? -

Gutted that we bought just down the road from this place, if we'd known this was coming on the market we might have waited:

I'd feel so uneasy living here. Your house is a tiny high bridge.

There's one like this is Bristol which I always think would be awesome to live in
Presumably a rare example of 'flying freehold'

I suspect the property being sold includes the land and airspace under it but subject to a right of way for the benefit of the rest of the development, in which case it wouldn't be a flying freehold.

I’m still perplexed by this weird Bristol freehold arrangement I’ve been told about. A maisonette, sharing one footprint, each with a freehold. Does the top floor flat have a “proper” freehold for the staircase and a flying freehold for the entire rest of the flat?
Because the council loves unnecessary bureaucracy I need to make changes to our deed, triggering the mortgage provider to ask for a new valuation. The company they sent previously will come around again and comment on the finishing for £750+VAT.
(WTF this broken system that cannot be fixed coz all these blokes will lose the bullshit jobs they picked up in the local Wetherspoons... £750 to come around and comment on the finishing?? I'll come around your house and comment on finishing for free.)
Anyone know where to get a cheaper valuation survey (I'm in SE London)?
