• The box is like a piggyback ECU, it can adjust the information the ECU is receiving from different sensors to change the way the engine performs.

    I think they can be both safer and extract more performance compared to a remap.

    I bought my JB4 used so it was the same price as a remap.

    It's definitely worth it with no other mods, I didn't dyno mine but everyone who did saw an increase from 280 stock to between 350 and 360.

    The Skodas are running a lower performing map than the equivalent VW/Audi, so mine was 280 stock but the Golf R is 315, so that's why the performance gains seem ridiculous. The same box on a Golf R would take it to the same, 350-360, which is the expected level of performance increase.

    You don't need it and 220 is a decent amount already, but it's really fun to have that extra.
