Heh, I don't have room or budget for another kitchen gadget. But the temptation is strong.
The current oven cabinet has base and head vents, with space at the back. So it looks as-expected. But there's still some heat comes out of the door, especially when open but also when closed. Maybe the door seals aren't great... but also, this is with the oven fan on, so the hot air has to go somewhere.
@Grumpy_Git thanks!
@cjr good point. Not that I can see. The original hob was gas, so perhaps the supply pipe and thickness of hob itself meant that the oven wouldn't fit.
I suppose the original motivation was having an oven higher up. The location isn't actually terrible, to be honest, it's just that it's next to the breakfast bar (clashes with chair) and fridge (hottest and coldest thing next to each other). The room is quite constrained, so I imagine this was the best layout available with the client not wanting to bend down to get to the oven. But... Now I'm the client and I'm more annoyed about heating up my fridge, whose compressor is running constantly (and noisily) and whose upper shelf isn't actually very cold.
When I can afford, I'll replace the fridge. But it's nice to give a helping hand to the new one. I'll double check all the dimensions, but height looks fine and depth should be ok as it's already in the adjacent location.
