probably too late but how about something like a universal wheel base https://uk.vevor.com/mobile-base-c_10989/vevor-mobile-base-500-lbs-weight-capacity-adjustable-from-12-x-12-to-36-x-36-heavy-duty-universal-mobile-base-stand-with-swivel-wheels-for-woodworking-equipment-bandsaw-power-tools-machines-p_010983303493

Some developers are genuinely inept.
During the beta phase of a racing sim, I figured out that they'd calculated the time gap to the car ahead as 'how long it would take to reach their current position at your current speed'. The result being a value that varied madly depending on whether you were doing 60kph round a hairpin or 250kph down a straight. Despite my best efforts to explain how wrong this was, it made it to release and was never fixed.

I'd noticed it being shit in Zwift races and just riding, but a ghost of a ride means they know the exact time you were at at a specific place. Lazy coding.

38% price hike for Zwift (+£5 per month).
-
• #681
Yep. Ouch!!
-
• #682
it is worth noting that if you are using Zwift for workouts i.e. structured intervals and you own a garmin, you can create intervals on Garmin Connect and send it to the computer and follow that while watching Netflix or whatever.
I dont buy anyone who says 'but its a nice distraction while I do intervals'. How can a 3D avatar going through a virtual world is more entertaining than Baby reindeer?

If your eyes aren't rolling back into your head you're not doing proper intervals anyway. May as well ride outside and increase your heart rate every time a Flange Rover passes you instead.

If you go for the annual price it's £15 a month which I still think is ok value wise. It's weird, they have a huge share of the market but some of the stuff like the graphics is so basic.
-
• #685
Just cancelled due to the price increase. Hardly use it at the moment anyway as I've been ill and I'm sure I can just find some free workouts to follow from my head unit
-
• #686
I cancelled when it went up to £12. £18 feels insane when your average MMO is £5
-
• #687
What are the free alternatives for driving erg mode on the turbo? I mostly just do my custom workouts anyway.
-
• #688
My annual renewed a few days ago, going to cancel so it doesn't renew. It's gone up by over 30%

Annoyingly I was going to keep Zwift over the summer just in case I couldn't get out but definitely not now. Cancelled last night and will probably go with an alternative when winter comes. 30% increase is a joke.

Tacx / Garmin, where you can use your own / other people's workouts.
-
• #691
Cancelled too. No issue during the summer, but do find it useful for longer training sessions over winter. Not useful enough for that price though!
-
• #692
I guess its less racing and more intervals.
can someone (@amey im looking to you) point me to what I need now? -
• #693
(before Zwift it was dumb turbos, and timed intervals on a watch, followed by trainerroad etc and then zwift)

I will do anything in my capacity for a fellow fixie skidder to avoid running.

- Go to garmin connect, under training & planning > workouts
- You will either see pre-made workouts or empty screen, here you can start creating workouts
- The interface to create workouts is very good!
- The steps within the workouts can be configured to any kind of a target, HR or PM.

This is replicated in tacx with a graphical interface.
But doesn't sync with your garmin connect workouts, annoyingly.
Similarly annoyingly, Garmin connect doesn't do ERG control.

tacx is garmin now
my garmin does erg (520 plus)
Unbelievably it assumes everyone's going at 30 (possibly 36) kmh at all times, so time gaps are really representative of distance gaps.
