The subaru branded 4 pots are great brakes, we run them on most of our classic subaru rally cars - and some of those are making ~340bhp at the crank on a VF30 with a restrictor
If yours are like that, they almost definitely need a bleed / fluid change and pads
I've done that, they don't bite like they should even when you slam the anchors. There is a hell of a lot of travel on the pedal.
