You'd think a team would have insurance that would cover such eventualities. They should!

Interesting, quite a quirk of local law here, not really about the injury per se it would seem? More she had the right to continued employment but is effectively signed off sick? The article doesn’t give much detail really.
Most places of work have a death in service but generally income protection is on the individual, for sports or otherwise.

I think the team could argue that because her injuries occurred during a Dutch National Team training camp, then the national federation should shoulder the majority of any liabilities.
It's an awful situation, so I hope some kind of agreement is reached.

Sorry if it's been mentioned, but what options are there for Giro highlights, if any, like the C4 ones for the TdF...?
Thanks all

Discovery+ if you fancy another subscription in your life. Otherwise a few YouTube roundups like Lanterne Rouge, or the usual host of podcasts.

I think they would have her insured until the end of contract, not until retirement age. Obviously Pieters isn’t launching this action herself so it’s the family attempting to ensure there’s money to care for her needs. If they win, I’d guess most professional teams will leave the Netherlands immediately.

DMAX on Freeview have highlights I think. Haven't watched them so no idea how good they are but DMAX is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery so assume they're linked to Discovery+ coverage.

Why even try and do a 90 degree corner on a flat front tyre?
Maybe the frustration gave him some extra grunt. Hope it's going to be an exciting race for 2nd

Stage three of Il Giro - all gone a bit bonkers
Most of the top sprinters out front in a massive break ... just about to be caught but going to be some knackered legs so the final could be a bit odd -

Raining at the finish.
Is Milan still odds on? I hope he does it.

Pogs got ideas of his own as per usual, would have been hilarious if he'd made it stick

• #49374
He probably could have done if Thomas had put a bit more work in ! bonkers ...

Good to see Pogacar saving himself for the Tour.
