Don’t forget all the Wagnerites that were “integrated” into the army after the coup.

Genocide by Russia. Seizing newborn babies unless at least one parent can prove they are Russian.

It's a deft move. There's basically zero chance that a heavily pregnant person will try to escape across the border to Ukraine. She'll have to sign the citizenship papers for both herself and her baby. Let's just hope the Ukrainian authorities will be forgiving about this in the future.

You really think Putler is still alive? I haven't seen the original shaky legs one in the news in ages. Not even the doubles have been paraded around despite the fact that he just won the elections. The geezer is dead or comatose and we must find the puppet master to slice off the head of the snake.

Last time he had a blanket to hide his shaking shriveled legs on the Red square. Pretty sure if the real one is in attendance he will be lying next to Lenin in the mausoleum.

Coup could happen anytime, the sooner the better.
Two deputy ministers of defence have been arrested for corruption. Gerasimov is probably dead. Shoigu is on shaky ground.
There’s squabbling over assets between FSB and oligarchs. A rumour has it that the theater fire was arson by FSB to hurt an oligarch.
FSB and army tag teaming Putin’s clique would be great. -

Funny how in today's video at the church his jaw looks totally different. Anyways Ruzzia is turning into a bit of a theocracy by the looks of it. Who would have thought?

Yet another reminder how different the Russian mindset is from what we in the west think it is

The Russian mindset is not hard to figure out if you look at their history. Russians have had an authoritarian government of one sort or another for hundreds of years. Nothing less than a complete economic collapse is going to change that.
-

Much of Europe was authoritarian up until fairly recently. No economic collapse was needed to turn Spain, Portugal, Greece, Czechoslovakia, Poland etc into functional liberal democracies.
Getting a bit fed up of hearing about the looong lines of world history being the explanation for everything that is happening in Ukraine right now. -

It's a combo of fear, poverty and relentless propaganda. This piece in the Atlantic is revealing https://archive.ph/8C5oY https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2024/04/patrushev-putin-paranoia-propaganda/678220/

“How does Europe not understand this?” one Moscow source in
policymaking circles told me. “There’s noticeable excitement among the
elites and the military: the prospect of engaging NATO soldiers is far
more motivating than confronting Ukrainians. For Putin, any form of
intervention would be a welcome scenario.” -

Russia starts fucking about with the buoys that marks the border between Estonia and Russia in the Narva river. They've also started pretending like the maritime border between Russia and Finland has suddenly become and issue.

Finland has enough artillery to clear a motorway from Kaliningrad to Moscow. However, against Russia and without NATO, they’d be badly outmanned, outgunned in every domain, and reliant on the aggressive authoritarian state that attacked them to call off the war.
The Baltic states have openly said they have material concerns that putin will come for them next. My bet is he would, after poor non-aligned Moldova.
I’d love to read a history book from 50 years into the future dissecting our times and this conflict.

Biden secretly agreed to allow Ukraine to strike inside Russian territory near Kharkiv with US weapons. Key point is that Ukraine should only use them in a counter-fire capacity to defend region around Kharkiv.

Helpful, and late, as the new rule may be, it’s an indication that things are not going well for Ukraine.
Yep. Very true. I wonder if there will ever be a map produced that illustrates where they all came from?
Obviously the Kremlin would never release the information. You would probably have to go and look at 50,000 grave stones to begin to work it out.
