  • I've definitely not been at 40% of our games over the last two years, but I have been at 4 of the just 10 games we've lost in that time.

  • Congrats @tbc

Was really hoping for Leeds in the playoff semis. Reckon Southampton will destroy us over two legs.

  • Epic stuff from Ipswich. Village pub went wild here. Just awesome news. Enjoy very much @tbc

  • Colleague of mine is a Wednesday fan so I’ve been keeping an eye on them through the year. Really happy to see them scrape through to stay up.

  • Congrats Ipswich. Good to have you back up.

  • Danny Röhl has been a phenomenal manager for them. It looked like they were down months ago.

  • Yeah I’ve enjoyed the kitchen chats about the turmoil. Around Christmas he was pretty much content with them going down so looking forward to seeing him next week.

  • Certainly deserved it over the forty-six games, @tbc but the media love-in’s a little too much for me (we certainly didn’t get it when we did the same under Lambert back in 2009-11 and not did Southampton a year later).

Hoping we can somehow scrape through the play-offs and join you - it’s been too long since we’ve had a top-flight derby!

  • To be fair, both Norwich and Southampton had been in the Premier League more recently than we have when they went back up, and they spent less long in League One - we'd been in League One four years and finished mid-table.

Keeping so much of the squad together is unprecedented as well - 8/11 starters today were playing last season, and probably the majority of those weren't even signed by McKenna.

So although I'm obviously biased I think it's a bigger story...

Based on recent history I'd definitely rather Southampton went up in the playoffs.

  • Great stuff Ipswich. What a couple of seasons! Welcome to the land of 5 minute VAR checks and 18 minutes of added time.

  • Whilst I’d obviously prefer you to smash all of Derby’s ‘07/08 records I actually think you’ll do alright next year (not as well as ‘00/01 though!)…there’s a lot of similarities to the way we went up under Lambert and we ended up 12th.

The Premier League is sh*t as a non-‘big’ side, but it’s the only place to be - I think with the financial backing you’ve now got you’re in a good position to give it a go, and sure you’ll do better than our last two terms (helped in no way by Delia and co’s lack of interest/ability in finding investment).

The top flight would be better with both of us in it…fingers crossed…

  • I was listening to the City game on 5 Live and thinking how shit the Premier League is.

Maybe we could win it, and bring the romance back.

  • Heehee. Let the lols begin

  • I’m against the idea of the super league.

Howeva!!! My mate made a case last night for telling all the state owned, multi billionaire owned clubs to fuck off together and having championship style run ins through all the European leagues that would no doubt be way more enjoyable.

I’m still not sold but I’m way closer.

  • Birmingham fans invading the pitch thinking they'd stayed up. To think they were 5th when they appointed Rooney lol.

  • Wow, waking up to an unexpected victory is unexpected. We've probably left it a little late to catch the Spuds now but up to 7th!!!

    Amaze.

    Didn't mean to reply, @Prole., soz. 💐

  • Well done Bromley - sort of South London - great final at Wembley , took a lot of fans …
… but , some of the (Solihull Moors , especially ) penalties … ppffftt , why oh why don’t people just run up and smack them ..?

  • Are Chelsea doing better with Enzo out I wonder?

  • Gallagher and Caicedo are playing really well together. A sticky problem for The Sheriff.

  • tidy win today.

    and welcome back Stefan Bajcetic.

  • Cesar Luis Menotti, chain smoking manager of Argentina at the 1978 World Cup, has died at the age of 85.

That was the first World Cup I remember watching and, once I got over the shock that Scotland weren't actually going to win, despite what Ally McLeod said, I have very vivid memories of it, especially the Dutch and Argentine teams.

  • That Dutch side could play

  • I know two Ipswich fans:

One is an Irishman, the other lives in a village high in the Italian Alps and calls them “Ipsich”

  • Yes! Enzo is good but think he slows the game down. Hopefully he will come back from his op and fight for his place. The problem might be solved by the ridiculous sale of Gallagher
