  • Well, my client wanted the tires NOW so I was left to overpay for a miserly selection here in town. Thought I’d lucked out with a set of Schwalbe Marathon Greenguards. Mounting them on the rims was fine, but no matter how many times I reset the bead in the rim (both tires) they wouldn’t run true; up and down, side to side, they’re all over the place. I tried another tire I had on hand, no problem so it wasn’t the rim and I don’t think it was me.

Anyone else have qc issues with Schwalbe lately? These are 50-559.
I should also mention that I’m running these tubed.

I've always found their tyres to be pretty 'wobbly'. Little Big Bens, some older G-Ones, Land Cruisers, Marathons, I've used all of them in the past and none have been noticeably true.

On a different note, 500 miles on the new Gravelking SS+, and really liking them. Comfy, fast(ish) and good durability. I was planning on switching back to Sawtooths for summer, but I think I'm going to keep them on.

The 700x45's run well around 35psi (tubed) I've found. At 40 they are noticably firmer on the road.
