  • I remember Labrynth from the early 90s rave scene, but I admit I knew nothing about the club’s history, that it had such cultural significance or edit: that the building is now gone the story behind the demise of the building. I’m slightly too young to have gone there during the early 90s. Slightly ironic is I didn’t know where the old building was or what it looked like, but I have been in the new building (when it must have only just been built) without realising what was there before.

  • The club was probably the scuzziest legal venue I ever stepped foot in but it had a great vibe, I never saw any trouble - reggae or house. It seemed to avoid the moody drug gangs that partied up the road at Clapton Pond.

    In its old form it would never have passed a fire risk assessment today, but it was a valuable community asset and its loss was very sad.
