Brexit was obviously the trigger for that change, but there's been a deep-seated dog-eat-dog mindset, mostly in men, for ages and ages. Macho individualists with a chip on the shoulder fit in very will with Conservative ideology.
Yeah it was fomenting for a while before the Brexit vote, for example UKIP and the BNP's combined vote in the 2009 European Elections was greater than Labour's. For me that election was the tipping point.

I think at this point, it is categorically because they are utter wankers.

We only got the chance to vote for some police crime commissioner a-hat. It would have been better to be given a vote to not even have a pointless, ineffective political wage-pack in the first place but wankers innit.
The incumbent tory jus got banged anyway, even in this backwater.
Overheard an old woman "If we get another labour government I'll be dancing in the street"
A different old woman "I LIKED Boris Johnson"You just can't assume anything here, apart from old women are unpredictable.

The guy we kicked out was such an idiot, he lost standing for Nadine Dorries’s seat and now has been kicked out as PCC. I also noted that his advertising, contained no reference to him being conservative that I could see.

Yes, but it can be taken that the Tories have slipped to third place in local politics. This may only be ~10% of council seats but it's a fairly representative 10%.

Well, I think it's a bit of a stretch to say the Tories are officially the 3rd placed party of local government when there are still literally thousands more Tory councillors than Lib Dems, they run 50ish councils against 10ish. They need to continue falling a lot further

^ I don't think we're saying different things.
London results in so far point to a strong Khan win. Something around a 5% swing to Labour.
Results appearing here: https://www.londonelects.org.uk/im-voter/election-progress/results-2024
For example: "West Central" had a Tory majority last mayoral election, has gone to Labour now.

I’m enjoying the absolute desperate Tory spin, as someone else said, they are presenting winning £10 and losing £500 as a great success

No swing though right? So just how they’ve always gone.
not sure if this is apocalypse-y enough for me at the moment.
