Anyone want to buy my Longines Legend Diver 42mm? Goldsmiths has it for £2300, eBay second hand has one for £1300, I'd do £1000.

So Tag Heuer have re-released their ~1990s F1, taken their name off and added a grand onto the price.
I’m obviously not hip enough to understand, but I’ll stick with this one I got in 1993.

I thought they were a fun throwback to my first decent watch until I saw the price. I wonder if second hand OG prices will go up abit now? And this

They possibly will go up, but mine really needs the bezel repainted.

If Tag did it themselves it wouldn't have worked, it's only because it's a Kith collab that they can ask the silly money they are for plastic bodied quartz movement toy watches. It's quite a small edition as well. Only so many hypebeasts out there willing to take the hit.

Good idea Omega should do something similar. I'd never heard of Kith until this collab. I thought maybe this was doing more for them than Tag. Clearly they're aiming these at the cool kids and not uncool nostalgic middle age men

It was 3-4 years ago but I managed to get a replacement bezel for £85 my paint wasn't too bad but the bezel surface had gone pretty smooth.

Oh that’s not a bad price - will have a look!

I went to a local independent I think Tag wanted more than double that

About that Tag/Kith thing..
2 weeks ago, Hodinkee released a Talking Watches with Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, in wich he explains that a Tag F1 was his first nice watch, and that as a « collector » he later bought the other colorway..
Trying to show to public « how cool these are »And now, just like that, all social media announce the new Tag LTD edition..

It's pretty common for Hoodwinkee / Talking Watches in particular. They had Jean Arnault on just as LVMH (who are also an investor in Hoodwinkee) were on a big publicity push, launching the new Tambour and promoting their independent watchmaking prize. Happens all the time. It's just more highly paid now. IIRC back in the day they had a chef pal of Ben "Social" Clymer on one time and he was basically promoting his restaurant.
Don't forget Hoodwinkee are in a bad place right now. They over-reached when they bought Crown & Caliber to start selling preowned and there have been multiple waves of layoffs recently. Everything they publish is fair game for motivations/interests being questioned.
