Last month we got a £1600 bill from Thames Water covering the last 3-4 years where they'd not billed us for some reason.
Just had the meters read in person for the first time in forever and the plot thickens. Turns out neither of our meter codes match what Thames Water have on their system and according to the meter reader guy we use fuck all water (90 units or something which equates to about £250 or so since they were installed in maybe 2012).
Yet I was paying £400 quid a year and the current bill is £1600. Turns out the bills we do still have are ALL estimates, even though people have definitely been here years ago to read the meters and the meter codes back to at least 2017 are wrong.
Is it any wonder TW are fucked if this is how good their admin is?
The guy gave me some story about how they changed all their handling over about 5 years ago, which is about the same time we last got a bill. So, now waiting to see what they do, but I'm not giving them any more fucking money that's for sure.
