Correct, they were just a bit floppy (although I think my first one did have a very simple retaining arm along the top of the suspension block to stop it folding as you went over a speed bump or similar). From memory the current QR lever and suspension block assembly will fit older Bromptons, but it needs the whole thing replacing as the suspension block and stop disk are different as this is where the catch for the qr lever is.
