  • fun... Audax

    The two are mutually exclusive

  • thought you were supposed to be good on a bike ;)

  • Need to chop the steerer.
Promutter for the last week and a bit; too ill to do any riding. Hopefully will be better for some upcoming Audaxs.

  • I don't know what gave you that impression.
    Rig is looking sweet

  • Carbonda is getting flatbar’d I think.
    Would these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335059661528
work to get it going? I’ll have to swap the hoses but flat mount callipers so should work?
Unless there’s something I’m not understanding about them.

  • south london boys go sporty flat bar wild this summer it seems, lock up your bisexuals, get your artisinal bakery goods in early and make sure to reserve your brewery table in advance

    we're in for a scorcher

  • full supporter of thiss btw

  • Much good, very approved.

Yes to the shifters, they will work!

You'll need new olive and barb tho

  • Waiting for some parts to show up.
I’ve gone with those basic Shimano flat mount hydros. They might not be particularly strong but I managed with Spyres for long enough.
I think some people might be mad at my handlebar choice but they seemed interesting and I was feeling low so I bought them.
Clearance max is for 650b x 2.1” so that’s what I’ve gone with.

  • i'm always amazed how perfectly adequate basic shimano hydros are

  • They might not be particularly strong

You'll wonder why people need SLX/XT, etc.

  • Exactly. I have a single one on my fixed, its on a par with trp hylex performance, which is high.

  • I’m going to stick with the Rival 1 setup. Seems to work well enough so maybe no point going to GRX. Just need one of the flat bar trigger shifters for it, if anyone has one.
I’ve pulled most of the bike apart and regreased everything. All the bearings are in fine condition which is surprising given how little I’ve maintained it over the last couple of years.

  • Would be fun to do some touring on this but I've been saying that for years and here we are still no closer to it.

  • pahahahahahah how have i only just seen this, cracked me right up

@samrensho actually rides their bikes unlike me mind

  • p.s. those bars look like a smart move Sam, i think i might miss some kind of ‘get out the wind’ position pretty quickly on my flat bar build

  • this IS frighteningly accurate 😅

  • looks comfy really - like spinaci's

  • 2.1” Thunder Burts on.
Cannot get that rear to seal up with a track pump so need to get that sorted.
