  • Having now tried it on for a quick turbo my only comment is the chami pad stops quite far back and it feels like your meat and veg are pushed out in front with just thin material holding you in.
The legs are also a tiny bit loose and ride up a bit riding so I ended up with a bit of bunching round the crotch.
So in summary, not ideal either. My quest continues!

  • Hmm. Will take a punt next week.

Really want a surpas but £600 is yeah nah.

  • What size are you? You’re welcome to try this one, I won’t be wearing it

  • After having suits with either baggy legs, short legs or too long sleeves i'm going back to two piece race kit this season. Kit has come a long way since Faris was rocking a two piece.

  • I’m tempted but I worry about my gunt sticking out or bits of fat back sticking out over my shorts. If they made super thin bib style tri shorts I’d be sorted

  • Decathlon have sale on Trisuits in store should anyone need.

  • Also their 900 shoes have a great boa release for transitions.

  • Does anyone have a garmin 965? My old 935 is dead and needs replacing. The new 965 has an amoled screen which I think turns off completely unless activated by a wrist movement, is that correct? If so is there a way to set it to always on, especially during activities?

For my old 935 I often put the watch on my bars (usually using the Tri kit mount) but obviously having a watch on the bars would make wrist movements impossible and I don’t want to faff pressing buttons to activate the screen.

  • Yes and by default in activity mode the screen is always on.

  • Perfect. I see garmin still sells Tri kit mounts but do you happen to know whether the 965 is likely to fit in my existing mount (which originally came with my 935)

  • slightly OT, but does anybody know how the booking system at Shepperton swim currently works? I've not been in a year and the app shows no upcoming slots...

Just email them? Or is it back to just showing up? Love the lake but booking is always a bit chaotic with them...

  • Sorry for all the questions, but since you have one, how do you find the screen? Do you think it’s worth the extra £150 for the (very similar) 955 solar. The main advantage is if it gives extra resolution with maps (especially on trails - say in the lakes or southern uplands) but I don’t have much experience with garmin maps as a baseline.

  • The screen is very very good, I had the fenix 6x before as a baseline.

The maps are great for hiking or cycling, but the reality of running and trying to read a map isn’t great in my experience, but that’s more the oscillating motion rather than the watch….

I don’t think much else is a significant leap on as I could pay for stuff and listen to music on the fenix…

  • I have a little Achilles tendinitis going on.

Will I fuck it more swimming and cycling?

  • I got the 955 to replace a Fenix 6S Pro (didn’t like the regular or large Fenix as they felt like dinner plates). UI feels like a step up and far prefer the (lack of) weight
Don’t get the solar though if getting the 955, screen is worse and the battery difference is negligible

I got lucky and found it for ~£280 new though, so it was loads cheaper than the 965

  • I fully convinced myself into being sensible and getting the 955, then found a 965 on sale and bought it on impulse. Already slightly regretting it, but I like the lairy yellow. The screen better be nice 🤣.

  • I feel like mine gets worse doing long cycling but swimming has no effect. Does it ever go away? I seem to just manage to keep it in check but it’s always low level hanging about!

  • It’s just popped up after 16km z2 today.

It’s not full blown, just can sense the discomfort so want to rest it before it actually becomes something.

Will just swim tomorrow and see how we go.

  • I can’t imagine swim making it worse. I used to get cramp when i swam with an injured ankle but that’s about it. Some zero impact movement might help get some blood to the area and help recovery?

  • Are races starting to get too expensive now? Just signed up for my local standard distance and it's gone from £40 to £100 over the last 5 years 😳 the first big increase was after Covid when they made the bike course closed roads which must cost them more but still seems expensive. Probably no new kit for this year now as it looks like all my money is going on race entries.

  • People doing 3:30 100s in the quick lane can fuck off.

Oh no am in your way again. YES YOU IGNORANT CUNT.

  • I'd have thought saying that to them should do the trick

  • Being pointed that the lane beside was for slower people didn’t budge them.
