• We’re getting rid of our amp/turn table/largish book shelf speakers to save space but I’m not sure what the best small replacement would be.

Should I look for a small wifi/bluetooth amp and small speakers or is something like a Sonos better?

Looking for decent enough sound quality and easy interface for linking multiple phones/apps to play radio or Tidal. Linking to our tv (no wifi connectivity) would be nice but not essential.

Our flat is tiny and the sofa/speaker arrangement is never going to be ideal so I’m thinking that a single speaker could work good enough and save some work with cable management.

Under £200 ideally and less is always nice.

  • I like the Sonos stuff and it ticks all the boxes but I'm not sure if it's really worth it unless you are going with multi-room where it's way ahead of the other options.

On the other hand it generally just works and is compatible with a lot of stuff and is in budget.

A Revo super connect has decent sound and looks nice, worth keeping an eye out on the refurb store. App definitely isn't as good as Sonos though.

Something like a Wiim mini and active speakers or little amp and speakers would be the separates option. Not as neat and pushing the budget a bit though.

The Naim stuff is ideal for this kind of requirement but probably out of budget.

  • Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll do some reading/price comparisons.

With Sonos is it worth going for 2 speakers set up for stereo or does one sound ok? It would be a little over budget but not crazy.

Should I consider a soundbar instead of more conventional speakers?
