• Picked up a Lenco L90 turntable in near timewarp condition for a 50 year old record player. It’s not one of their desirable players and I probably paid a bit over the odds, but it’s in amazing condition, it’s got speed control and it’s era-correct for my vintage amp builds. It’s also got its original box and packaging - I’m not going to get to use it for some time, so it can live safely up in the loft until I’m ready to get it out. Right turntable, wrong timing!

The seller didn’t pack it back away very well. They didn’t take the platter off or lock the deck, and the tone arm weight was loose and rattling around. Amazingly, it all survived apart from the needle.

I’ve just been giving it a damn good clean because it was filthy. When I’m ready to get it down I’ll probably also give the lid a machine polish because it got a bit scuffed in transit.
