So we moved to lyon this week, drove down 17th/18th with a stop at my wife's mum's. All furniture arrived no issues with customs, spent the last couple of days unpacking in 37 degrees which was fun.
Moving to another country with a 2 and a 3 year old was equal parts fun and a nightmare, just when you want to strangle the little bastards they do something that makes you laugh and smile so wide that the stress melts away.
Currently having a beer in a hotel in Bezannes halfway through my drive back to blighty to get rid of my car, I'm absolutely fucked but I get to have tayyabs on Monday with 2 of my best mates that I didn't get chance to see before I left.
Pretty happy right now.

Ideally I want to live in a 4 bed house, with a utility room to hide the fucking laundry away, nice bike riding, a decent swimming club nearby, good dog walking, and not too car centric.
In the UK.
Where should I look?
Ideally, I want to be able to pay for it without killing anyone. -

Tynemouth? How close to London?
-
• #1584
with respect, this request is meaningless without a budget

Hull.

I think that's not that important.
Everytime I look at a map of the UK, I just think "family live there, lived there, lived there, don't fancy that, full of cunts, jesus no, family, NORFOLKINGWAYTHANKEWE, more cunts"

Too close to Grimsby.

Budget. Work requirements. Etc... ?
Edit:Cunts everywhere unfortunately
I bought in Tonbridge. And didn't have to pawn any offspring.

Work usually dictates where you can move to. You not limited to anywhere?

South Wales / Crickhowell / Abergavenny? Rides into Brecon Beacons / Forest of Dean / into Bristol and Somerset.

Scotland.

The nicer bits of England outside London are typically full of Tories I'm afraid.
-
• #1594
350(max) most likely, it's about selling and using whatever is in the house to buy a new one. SAVINGS? Nein.

• #1595
I'm sat in Zurich at the moment thinking "the beer is on par with London prices and it's heaps nicer"

You could probably just about make that work in Hastings (may have to sacrifice utility room) - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143186741

Hastings/bexhill St Leonards. less tories, few druggies and dog on string dole scum but not far from some decent cycling/walking and not Brighton/Whitstable prices with accompanying posho’s and media tosspots.

It's like you can see inside my mind and know how I think about Brighton.
-
• #1599
this is a sad development

It's not that bad. It's just difficult / impossible to make the next step. Especially given all the fun stuff in the house.
Thinking about this too now. Looking at houses/bunglow to buy and move to.
Thoughts?
