  • Not even sure which thread to ask this, but…

Air filters, are they worth it? Looking at a basic one for the bedroom but unsure if they are something you can go small on.

  • worth looking at a dehumidifier with built in HEPA filter, potentially kill two birds with one stone?

imagine that might be a bit noisier than air purifiers alone, mind

  • We bought a blueair filter for our girls room, I was a bit sceptical but it made a massive difference, my eldest was always coughing before falling asleep and first thing in the morning, cough dissappeared.

Someone will probably post some science showing it's all a scam and plecebo but whenever it wasn't used you could feel the difference in air quality.

  • I bought one (bluair) a couple of weeks ago as both my son and I have been coughing a lot at home, but as yet I'm not super convinced its having an effect. If I didn't already have a decent dehumidifier I would have looked at a combo as mentioned above - have had the Meaco Arete recommended to me in the past

  • Yeah I would say they are worth it. I'd also say don't go really basic either, get one that a decent range.

  • air purifying I assumed was homepathy .. am I wrong? Usually I am wrong

  • We have two phillips series 800 that we got when we moved to a house with no carpets and the airbone dust can get high as it doesnt have carpets to hide in.
I bought both of ours cheap off eBay and then installed new filters, as they're basically just a fan connected to an air particulate filter.
Extremely happy with both, they do the job well. I dont buy into any needless 'smart' tech so we just leave these on auto and let them get on with it.
