Horners accuser has been suspended from RBR.
Just in time for press conferences.

What about all this stuff with Jos Verstappen as well. The plot thickens!

Sainz is crocked with appendicitis and 18 year old Brit Oliver Bearman is stepping up for the rest of the weekend.
-
• #9656
Hopefully it goes smoother than Albon's surgery!
Should be interesting to see how Bearman stacks up. He's looked pretty decent in F2/3.
Not looking to0 bad so far. Though in my mind I'm comparing this to Badoer/Fisichella replacing Massa in 2009

The best thing about that race was Yuki beating useless Dani

For me it was:
"Can you bring it back Lance?"
"No, I'm in the fucking wall!" -

They've gotta just get Lawson in that car. Danny Ric is a lovely guy, but he's not getting in that Red Bull with recent performances, nor is Tsunoda. I'd be betting on Tsunoda staying there because Ford seem to be getting cold feet and sticking with the Honda/RBPT engine is a solid backup.
Gotta give Danny Ric credit though, he's made a ton of cash over the past years with expensive signings and being bought out of contracts to make space for other drivers, fair play!
On a related note, I'm seriously hoping Haas give Magnussen the boot and get Bearman in to see what he can do. It's ridiculous that drivers like him, Ricciardo, Bottas still have drives. Guessing Sargeant will be out of Williams at the end of the season to make way for Kimi Antonelli (granted, he hasn't exactly set the F2 grid on fire so far, but I imagine Merc want him safely in a seat they control before another team nabs him).
I'm not holding out much hope for on-track action this year, but it's going to be one of the best silly seasons in recent memory I'm sure!

Perez replacement chat might be re-igniting soon

Looks like the RB was ropey all weekend and the grid penalty killed it for him. But yeah.

Alonso penalty is interesting.

I was confused as hell for a sec there as I thought you were talking about Tsunoda/Ricciardo RB and not Perez/Verstapped RB.
I mean it still seems like the best car (maybe not as clear here as other tracks), but he was nowhere compared to the Ferrari/McLaren pairs. Now Ferrari are right in the hunt for the WCC. Granted, they'll definitely throw away any chance they get with some daft strategy calls.
Unfortunately Sainz is unlikely to go there while Verstappen is there, because papa Sainz & papa Verstappen don't get along (granted, I don't think anyone gets on with Jos).

Deserved IMO. Clear brake testing (not his first time either).
If he'd slowed gradually to bring Russell closer before the straight to reduce the slipstream effectiveness he'd be fine. But he literally braked (early), got back on the throttle, then braked again (at the normal point).
He's a very clever driver, but that was over the line IMO

Wish i'd known they'd changed brought Suzuka forward in the calendar, i'm there in a few weeks time. Amazing circuit and fans but not the best memories from being there in 2014.

Oof. That'll shake up next year then...

Ooo, that ought to shake things up!
-
• #9672
Wow.
Is the Ferrari/Hamilton combo too obvious or do we think Audi will roll in with the mega-bucks for a rookie year victory? -
• #9673
Wasn't Newey spotted in Italy recently?
-
• #9674
Aston seems the obvious choice, not sure he'll be keen on having every element of the design exposed every time Lance crashes it though!

I seem to remember hearing he had an interest in both Ferrari and working with Lewis Hamilton. That could be an iconic end to both their careers
People said the same about Schumacher. If he wins, they'll love him.
