  • What are some bikes to consider when looking for a steel framed road bike with ~32 mm clearance and rim brakes?

    My list so far:

    • Kona Honky Tonk
    • Genesis Equilibrium
    • All City Mr. Pink
    • Surly Pacer
    • Ritchey Road Logic

I've got a CAAD10 that's a bit too stiff with 25c tyres for the road surfaces it's ridden on, thought I might be able to swap to something more comfy and reuse most of its parts.

  • you can also use +something to make a tailored version still go to you

you could sign up with rodolfo+lufguss@gmail.com for example
and then anything sent to that would still go to your rodolfo@gmail mailbox

  • I have a two Honky Tonks (I'm weird) but think you'd struggle to get 32mm tyres on comfortably

  • At work we used to get round emails from the Theydon Bois Freemasons. Was hilarious, all 'Brother John was raised to the order of...'. And now get similar from the union at Hinckley Point. Less hilarious, more fighting redundancies.

  • threats of eviction

Sounds like they’re purposely giving out someone else’s email.

  • My brother has the same name as a wildlife photo/videographer so every now and then gets emails inviting him to helicopter rides in the serengeti and the like. Whereas I just send all my spam to david davidsons' account.

  • It seemed to be the lease of a shop they'd just refitted but all the bills came to me and obviously I didn't pay them...

  • discussion here any help?

    sadly not 🤷

  • I once got some e-tickets for a return flight to Japan that were for somebody with an email that was slightly close to mine. I was so tempted, but I knew I wouldn’t get away with it. So I did the decent thing.

  • And sold them to some other gullible sap?

  • Those bike aren’t going to buy themselves…

  • ms_com regularly gets emails intended for someone trying to use her address without a dot. These consist of MAGA propaganda and Barnes & Noble receipts for free e-erotica.

  • Meeting at UCL Bedford Way tomorrow morning.
Never been there before and don't know the area.
Safest place to lock up a bike from 09.30-14.00?

  • Tokyo fixed wide open - if you can find one

  • Looking for a location to film in between London and Oxford(ish) late May. Need to film 3 different scenarios so something varied and, for logistics/ease of getting permissions, a varied single site would be preferred. Maybe a school/university/college/hospital/science park/light industrial etc.

If anyone has access to decision makers/knows any location managers etc, lemme know.

  • Hmm, doesn't sound like the cheap and cheerful type I was aiming for!

  • I don’t think they’re particularly expensive or fancy frames but fits your requirements. They weren’t sold for that long so you don’t see many about. I bought my in the kinoko cycles closing down sale for about £200 I think

  • Bit of a mixed bag then

  • Tried this in mechanics first, but hoping more luck here ...

A very mundane question - anyone know of an inexpensive Boost rear thru-axle that's hollow all the way through?
(I want to adapt a QR old man mountain rack onto my mountain bike, have done this on another bike by putting the QR through the thru axle, but my mountain bike has an axle that's solid at one end. I could drill it out, but would prefer not to).

  • Is deporvillage legit?

  • Held them ransom for half the cost of new ones obv

  • Yes. Used it several times

  • Anyone bought from here? Legit?

What VAT / customs are levied on orders from Europe?

  • one of the biggest/best, VAT threshold is £120(?)

  • guess i will being ordering one thing at a time then.

Ps - i thought this, but have they radically changed the layout and design of the site? I don't remember it looking like this.
