Set up for Istanbul -> London
Wish it would fit wider than 25mm but tbh some of the worst roads were in the uk (and Bosnia, they were very bad).
Still some improvements to be made for efficiency; tent bag is a little too big, handlebar harness is so flaccid it can sag to the wheel, 5l dry bag on the rack leg was a bit excessive, and a frame bag to better make use of the XL frame size.
Got to be said though, after coming from a saddle bag, the tailfin is good, if not crushingly expensive.

Good to see another tourer with tri bars. Did you have cooking gear?

Was actually quite manageable, apart from the Maungatapu track from Pelorus over to Nelson which was very bouldery and definitely a hike a bike on 32mm

I was thankful for them in the days of headwind across the French interior!
I took a stove with me to Turkey, then had a panic about space and weight so left it with my gf to take home for me. Tbh with the heat last summer I didn’t really feel like I missed hot food much -

This is my plan for the Badger Divide this weekend. A test for kit and legs ahead of the TransAlba (short version) in June

This was my setup for 2 weeks touring japan, had tent, sleeping stuff, some basic food stuff, probably a bit too much clothes but I like clothes :)
Don't know if I would take rear panniers out again, don't love how they made the frame feel, but they did add a lot of flexibility and ease whilst touring so you gotta respect that, and I wanted to try the trad approach for this trip. (The bags look mega full but there was loads of space available to me.)

My Genesis tdf 10 on a bikepacking ride last summer.
Lomo drybag on the back, custom Alpkit stingray framebag and I usually have my WW Alakazam in the wald basket. The Thudbuster seatpost and Shockstop stem are a real treat for offroad and I couldn't recommend them more if you want a bit more comfort but can't run fatter tyres.

That's a well stuffed saddle bag!
I was chatting to a German fella on a tour last year, and he called my Blackburn one something that translated to 'Ass Rocket', which amuses me to this day.

yeah i had this boxxy shaped drybag inside it so it didnt properly go in to the tapered section but it was ok, next time i will just use plastic bags inside the original drybag

This was my setup for Lon Las Cymru last weekend. First time taking a carradice rather than my usual ortliebs. Probably still managed to over pack but definitely appreciated not having heavy panniers on some of the climbs 😬

This setup worked pretty well for me, albeit a bit too front loaded.
In the future I would like to try below, but with a full frame bag and smaller front panniers.

My girl in Malaysia. Ive changed my handlerbars so much but finally comfy with the butterfly bars. I love a small easy to take off handlebar bag for money/phone/passport. Done 12000km so far and many more to come!

Has anyone tried the carradice bikepacking saddle pack, possibly called colarado?

This setup has been working pretty well for me, this was packing for a 3 day long weekend. Could easily pack a lot more on though which is nice for longer tours. Nice to have lots of extra space to strap on additional food and bits when needed.
Fairweather dry bag and holder on the front, and also matching frame bag. Rear panniers are custom made by Bigxtop using the same colour xpac.

Thanks, the cargo cages on the side look really useful
Cheers. It did the trick for a couple of week-long mini tours. Easy to pack, easy to attach (i.e. no pissing about with millions of straps).
While I now use bar/frame/saddle bag and will use podsac on rack, it isn't half a faff getting all those in place.
