  • Perfect. They look to be just the ticket. Cheers.

  • I got a set of 'no bull' hangers from Amazon. They've got nitro finished guitars in them, including a telecaster and pointy mockingbird. They're pretty basic, but cheap and work nicely

  • I have those Hercules ones - known as the "kerchunks" in this house, as in "will you put that bloody guitar in a kerchunk out of the way?". Can recommend them.

  • I'm having a clear out here and have just found one.

  • Was gonna offer it at forum rates but hardly seems worth the bother as they're £14 on Amazon. Let me know if you're super keen i'll post.

  • Here at Howlin' Al's were CRAZY about slashing prices on... stuff that's been clogging up my desk drawers for years.

  • Just discovered Grace Bowers on YouTube. She's pretty awesome and the guitar break in the middle of this is wonderful.

  • If yer man up thread doesn't take this I'd love it in return for beer or whatever. Need to hang a guitar above my wfh desk so i do some productive procrastination rather than wasting working hours on here 🤣

  • I'm in london this week and can easily sling it in my bag.

  • Ah, cheers. I already ordered some on Amazon. Looks like @owl is keen, though.

  • Music City Bridge have refunded me the cash and let me keep the bridge and studs. Said it was their bad for advising me to buy it in the first place.

    Result!

  • Wow. Good customer service.

  • I was certain I'd get fucked over. Can't argue with that really. 7/5, etc

  • Anyone have a guitar teacher they'd recommend in SE London? It's for a mate's 16 year old son.

  • Possibly, but I don't know if he's still doing lessons. Or, for that matter, whether he's still in SE London! Lemme check.

  • Anyone have an old cheap tremolo pedal they want to sell? After something like a behringer ultra tremolo or something like that. Needs to have square wave and be really choppy sounding. Don’t care about condition just need functional

  • Before it goes somewhere frightening like eBay, I've got a PRS SE EG that I've been making very half-hearted attempts to sell for a few years which now really should go. I really like it - actually it plays much nicer than the Silver Sky SE that 'replaced' it, but the SS was more money and I don't want to make a big loss on it, while I've had this since new (2007 I think?) and fancied a change.

Imagine a full mahogancy set neck HSS strat with a shorter scale and the nice PRS tremolo, plus a wide fat neck. It's in really nice condition.

I think £300 is fair? I'm in Manchester, but could deliver within reasonable distance for fuel money.

  • Any recommendations in terms of a courier for a guitar before I dive in, I think I've used services via parcel2go before when sending big things. Cheers

  • No courier recommendations, but since they all treat parcels like shit, remember to loosen off the strings before you post a guitar. One sharp knock can be enough to snap the neck if it’s under tension.

  • You can either spend a lot on a courier, or spend a lot on packaging - I found buying a guitar box from Amazon was the best approach. Not even parcel force could damage that bad boy.

  • Thanks guys, I still have what the box and packing that Fender sent it in, so I’ll loosen the strings and put some more packing around it 🤞

  • Peavey Ultra Plus for sale here if anyone's interested (you all should be because its class):

  • I’ve had a guitar get snapped in half with a regular guitar box. Went with parcel2go, they wouldn’t accept any responsibility as it wasn’t in a hard case. There were footprints on the box like it had be jumped on. Might want to check the small print before you send it off

  • For those of a folkyrock persuasion this may be of interest. One of my all time favourite albums. Linda's daughter reading out her fantastically unsentimental recollections and dismissive asides is worth the price of admission alone.
