the main story was the one bit i didn't enjoy in 4. got to the big choice you have to make and was like "i don't a fuck about any of this" and never went back to it.

If memory serves, I'm already way over levelled from doing anything but the main story. I'm not good with open world games.

Fully agree around main quest in FO4 (although far harbour is I think much better). The fear in FO3, coming out of the vault and getting my ass kicked by the raiders in super duper mart, sneaking around terrified in the dark the first time I played it is really a landmark gaming moment for me.

As far as I can tell, I can't buy a Switch game for my friend to download, right? Best I can do is get some kind of credit or voucher thing that they then use and they purchase the game themselves? No workarounds anyone has discovered?

Also the shitty Pipboy light make it much harder too.

Manor Lords is out on Friday. Anyone planning on getting it? The early access footage looks great!

I was tempted to play something Fallouty following the release of the TV show.
How is Fallout 76 nowadays?
(i've replayed the hell out of 3, 4 and NV)

I really like the look of the building / economy aspects but haven't been super impressed by any of the battle bits I've seen. Will absolutely be sinking my weekend into it though.

I really want to revisit my pc FO4 save, it's just going to take a lot of awkward fucking around trying to remember which order to have the mods in and such. I swerved 76 when it came out as it had dire reviews and no NPCs, it seems to be a lot better these days and I imagine it'll be having a fresh influx of players due to the show. Might give it a peek now

I watched a beginners guide video which spans the first 3/4 years within which there was combat only three times. It looks pretty decent and like there is definitely potential there but is very much an end/late game thing. I agree on the economy and city building aspects, it looks great.

Hard to believe even FO76 is over 5 years old now!

Hard to believe they haven't mothballed it yet

Wtf indeed!

I guess its very unlikely well be getting FO5 this decade then with the next elder scrolls still being developed and I'm sure they'll knock out another version of Skyrim in the mean time too
-
• #29293
Is Skyrim not a version of the elder scrolls itself?
-
• #29294
Yeah it's elder scrolls 5, ES6 is currently in development but Bethesda seem to love bringing out updated/remastered versions of Skyrim

Can anyone recommend an adapter to use wireless Xbox One controllers with a Switch? There seem to be a few of them out there but mixed reviews.

Think my concern is bugginess - have heard walls for example can mess up pathfinding depending on order of construction. Hoping for not another Ancient Cities in terms of 'bits getting promised but fizzling out'

It’s a single dev as well I think? Hopefully broad and postive/forgiving early access has allowed time to squash then big bugs.

I think it was just this guy Grzegorz until maybe a year or so ago and they teamed up with a small company but not sure how the work is split and whether that's just publishing support or any dev/testing etc.
EDIT: yep, just publishing apparently - Hooded Horse. Madness.

Looks great, best console ever made! You might be going down a very expensive path though, speaking from experience!

Nothing beats a clear Nintendo hand-held. I turned my Switch Joy Cons into retro clear-purple, GB Color throwback.
This is 100% the opposite of how I ended up playing them.
I've not actually finished 4 and it's tempting to load it up again, although it never grabbed me like 3 and NV did. I've thought for years I should just plow through the main story at the very least.
