This is a good question that is tricky.
Personally I looked in the BACP directory, and got in contact with a few people.
I’d recommend setting up initial meetings with a few people to find the right one for you.

I need to go to Watford from Euston. Can I get any train so long as I tap in/out or can I only tap on TFL ones and buy tickets for others like West Midlands or something else?
Cheers

Any train is fine. Tapping points are at the top of the ramps if it’s not the local line platforms in the centre.

I have a DA brake (no holders), what pads do I need for a carbon rim? It’s for the front on a fixed gear so a hope to only use it occasionally so don’t mind them being reasonably spendy as they should last a while. Ta.

Cheers. It's one of those things that you'd hope is easy to search but when you try you get loads of crap.

what pads do I need for a carbon rim?
Consult your rim manufacturer, they have their own favourites.

Alas I have no clue what they are. The bike was originally built by Seabass, but they didn’t supply the rims. My guess is Chinese (LB?)
I’ll try for a better pic when I’m home.

I gather most of the cool kids are using SwissStop Black Prince in the absence of specific advice from their rim maker. LB have their own pads but also approve SwissStop

What's a decent, pocketable lock for short stops at cafes etc?
Not looking for miracles, more of a stop an ad-hoc theft.

I use a £5.00 cable lock from Halfords for those occasions when the bike isn't going to be out of my sight.
ETA - For the circumstances I've just described, it doesn't need to be decent. TBH a zip-tie is all you need to prevent someone from legging it with the bike. -

The hiplok zip ties are good for that, I prefer the combo one to the little prong key one, but the numbers might be a bit small for your experienced eyes.

We've got a concrete covered staircase leading from the kitchen to a sort of flimsy utility room at the end of the house. It's 3 or 4 stairs up into the room which is a mould trap with thin plasterboard walls. No idea what's behind the plasterboard but there are electrics in there and they're not wet so presume there's some kind of outer shell before we hit the earth.
I want to get rid of the steps/floor so it's the same height/level as the kitchen.
This is to free up useable space in the utility room, feel better/ safer moving between rooms and best of all I can then lower the decking above it (house is on a steep hill and the decked outside area is above this utility room which was added at a different time to the rest of the house).
It feels like removing the floor is the place to start.
Who would I speak to first? Structural engineer to check it's even possible?
Annoying considerations would be the side return which is tiered and at that end of the house it's at the same height as the current utility floor. There's a small toilet/sink in there so presume these would need to be lowered to the new floor (probably 60cm total height removal) and not sure how drainage would work. Also washing machine etc. would we need to lower the height of the side return as well?

Forgive me.
And forgive the spilled cat litter.
Kitchen has remained unfinished while we figure out what to do in there.

Is it wrong to be bidding on a frameset just because you have a pair of tyres that you wrongly bought, will finally fit on a bike you have? Asking for a friend. Of course I am that friend.

People on here have planned builds around less significant components. Not justifying, just saying!

Put up a shed, it's got a hasp and staple latch. I won't be storing anything stealable in it, and want easy/quick access, so don't want to fit a padlock.
What could I use instead? Thought maybe a carabiner. Have currently wedged a hand-fork in there
