Sorry @mobe, only just seen this. Got messed around by people not returning phone calls, visiting but not following up with a quote - the usual basically...
Saw a van outside a house alongside a park where I walk the dogs and asked one of the guys for a card, emailed them via their website, got a lovely response (apologising for late reply even though it was within 24 hours), and someone is coming round to take a look on Thursday. Will provide an update.

Any recommendations for someone to replace a skylight/velux in south London (Brixton)? Some other jobs needed, replacing some porch tiles, removing and replacing a bricked-in gutter down-pipe, new toilet installed...
