The Sub works because the male link has the same profile as the wider lug shoulders.
Where as the Tudor female is slightly lost.
I think the aim of the end link, aesthetically, is usually to look as though the bracelet continues through the watch, rather than looking like a part of the watch case itself.
There are plenty of exceptions but that's the trad approach.
