Oh wow.
I'd go for manual removal and crushing as a first step. -

Can't remember who on here recommended the Black Pearl Euphorbia but the one I put in last year is now flowering and looking great.

Those chairs look great! Where are they from?

Think it's made by different companies.

Might have been me, it’s a favourite of my ladybird army.

Ah yes, it was you indeed!
I think it was also you who recommended the Orange Geum which is on the purchase list for this year. Thanks! -

aphid
Yikes, blast them with a hose!
-
• #12534
Thanks they’re called “clam chairs” i think. As @c.h.e. says made by different manufacturers. Bought ours off a travelling narrow boat on the canal in our town

I spray our roses with rose clear. Terrible I know. 😔

Anyone know what this is that’s fairly rampant in every corner of my garden and lawn? To my untrained eye it looks exactly like the cranesbill geraniums I planted in autumn.
The lawn is also rife with nepeta and dandelion which is looking awesome.

cranesbill geraniums
Looks like this to me too but also with herb robert underneath
-
• #12538
Yeah Rob gets everywhere. I like it.
Well I’m glad I spent about £40 on six struggling cranesbills that are now growing like weeds everywhere around them.
-
• #12539
If you like it keep the Robert. I can’t stand it, gets everywhere
-
• #12540
It’s probably creeping buttercup rather than geraniums. Kill it - it spreads like a bastard.
-
• #12541
I don't know if they're geraniums but the ones I planted last year in my borders are already back with a vengeance and looking fairly rampant.

When looking for fast growing, evergreen climbers for a shaded spot I for some reason ruled out things like Japanese honeysuckle which seems to fit the criteria. Anyone any idea why I did that?
-
• #12543
Disagree, look closely at the leaf shape, I think it's more dissected than creeping buttercup

It'll be certain when it flowers though

I have a small patch of creeping buttercup

Seems like it is invasive

Found a load of lily beetles today.
Correct course of action is to squish them, yes?
-
• #12547
No
Part of the rich biodiversity of a garden. Another garden predator will eventually sort them out and so it goes on😬 -
• #12548
ah ok - fair enough. i thought as non native species they were bad guys.
-
• #12549
Got the fuckers today.

I’m just trying to sound eco-aware, squish them if you want to
The urge to neem/hose/rose clear these is colossal. Hoping for some ladybirds to be along shortly but no sign yet
