bodging mudguards to fit the 650bx50 tyres

26" mudguards work well for me with that tyre size

Finding the right size is not my concern, but massaging them to fit fork crown and stays, as there is only around 55-57 mms.
I had 700cx60 bluemels on there previously and had to take quite a chonk out of them at the seat stays

Did you cut the mudguards to fit or shape them? I cut holes in my aluminium guards so they'd fit in my forks, but I'm interested in how hard it is to shape them if I ever need to replace these ones.
