Must have been fun. That's what those bikes are for, no? The accidental ski slope downhill and such in between nice lanes.

I put my Pelago Stavanger back together as a singlespeed.
I took it apart because I wasn’t fond of the low trail handling with drops and 70mm stem.
Turns out 800mm handlebars work great for low trail - and handling feels great even with a loaded basket. Now I just have to decide between bodging mudguards to fit the 650bx50 tyres or put back the 700c wheels and 35mm tyres

bodging mudguards to fit the 650bx50 tyres
26" mudguards work well for me with that tyre size

Think he'll get it powdercoated poo brown!

Finding the right size is not my concern, but massaging them to fit fork crown and stays, as there is only around 55-57 mms.
I had 700cx60 bluemels on there previously and had to take quite a chonk out of them at the seat stays -

Did you cut the mudguards to fit or shape them? I cut holes in my aluminium guards so they'd fit in my forks, but I'm interested in how hard it is to shape them if I ever need to replace these ones.

My old bike!
Good to see it out there getting muddy.
I really like those Thunder Burts too. Such fast tyres. -

+1. I did that with some VO mudguards. Worked really well. Just take it easy when tapping the dowel to make the dimples.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll probably post some pictures of the clearances in the mudguards thread, as I don't want to buy and ruin a perfectly good pair of metal guards if they won't fit.

Does anyone know if these are any good?
Or any similar recommendations?

They do exactly what they should. Nice positive clicks too.
Microshift make similar ones, much pricier but adjustable resistance.

Nice thing about the SunRace models is, that you can adjust the cable exit angle.
And with a little filing you can mount shimano downtube/bar-end shifters on the mounts.I didn't get on with the 9-speed lever that I had, so I just use the mounts with different shifters, but reading up on it, I probably had too much tension on the top screw.
Would buy again if I needed more..

That's a good tip! I still have some old down tube shifters that might be fun to mount.
Yeah. Will do!
That lane was more stream than track in places. Right slippery. Had to have a little sit down when I got to the bottom until my eyeballs stopped rattling around.
