Getting a handle on bar tape: the tape thread

Answer my own question, it was horrible and hurt my hands.

In other news, the new (I think) Cinelli Wave tape is really nice. Grippy, nice feel, easy to wrap.

Tape News from Paris Roubaix the other day was lots of teams using stippled Prologo tape for extra grip. someone in this thread suggested cannondale knurl bartape - have had for a few months and seems very good :-)

I'm just about to think about refreshing the cockpit on my Cannondale, and really like the look of that CampAndGoSlow rattlesnake tape. Has anyone used it? And is it really worth £50?

Deda, Selle Italia, Selle San Marco, Brooks, BLB, BTP? (Faux) leather with holes is everywhere.

Is it not Cinelli Caliedo?

I dont think so, theres no multi colour and the holes are fine and spread out, theres also a load pin prick type texture , and maybe an embossed edge but that could be the way its applied .

IIRC it's not leather; fabric based material, not very stretchy so a bit of an effort to do a nice wrap, and a re-wrap would only look good if identically wrapped.

Tape looks like Fizik to me, not the new microtex stuff they do today, but the previous version, was called Fizik Dual bat tape I think.

Actually yeah, that'll be the one; the linked Fizik tape threw me. I even remember the blue foam on the back now

what colour cotton tape do we think for swept back silver bars on this frame? don't really want to just go with black . Initial thought was the teal newbaums but not sure if that'd be too bold?
