I somehow volunteered to do this - oil a bench - the previous coats had been really badly applied, and thus created patina so I wasn't after a refinish to new just bring it up to a cared for level, it's not the oil that's done the work more three hours with wire wool and two coats of fast dry tung oil. I'm sure there are other methods and products - but I'm kinda chuffed
