Something's happened to my imessage on my MBP.It stopped working a few days ago. I tried to log out and in again and it wouldn't accept my password so I reset it however I still can't log in.
I've logged out and back in to my icloud in system settings, and on a browser so I know my credentials are correct but imaessage and facetime won't log it.
Everything's working fine on my phone.
Anyone have any ideas? -

Yep, I wasted way more than £10 worth of time before buying it.

Can you share a link to it?

I posted in the tinnitus thread, but also sharing it here:
I have just found that Mac o/s can play different ambient sounds via Accessibility>Hearing options, so I'm trying that today rather than music.

Thanks! I'd happily pay £20 to not have to fuck about with the things it solves.

Is anyone here running Autodesk Fusion on an M series MacBook?
I’ll need to buy a new work computer soon and don’t know how tricked out I need to go. Ideally I won’t be spending more than the base level 14” M3 Pro.
Last time I paid for my own computer was 2010, feeling excited about new specs and releases is a thing of the past, now I just want to know it will do its job so I can forget about it.

So I was in Costco tonight, they have these MacBook Pros. I think looking at the prices and comparing them I think the M3 pro is the base spec one on the apple website. It’s about 300 quid cheaper.
Is it worth just getting the M2 pro or go for the M3 or avoid Costco and go straight to apple to get shafted!

I know nothing about specs required for 3d, but I doubt you'd be disappointed with an M3 pro

^^ when did “18GB” become a standard for Apple computers? I checked the model number and yikes, there it is.
(still twitching)

what I find even more confusing is the 11-Core CPU, 14-Core GPU spec.

personally i would go for a refurb with more storage and at least 32gb ram even if it meant M1/2 over M3, guess it depends on your use case though.

Thanks all, getting a tricked out M2 (maybe Max) for similar money could be the way to go.
I need do more reading if the ray tracing functionality of the M3 will be useful.

Yes, that also.
maybe a Spinal Tap thing.

Could anyone recommend a Macbook Air 13 replacement battery? It's for a late 2010-17 model. Cheers.

Apple TV and a projector - will a gen 3 be enough? I'm not looking to break the bank here...
-
• #21195
4th gen Apple TV (refurbished) has a 15% off coupon this weekend.
Worth it for the remote alone.
-
• #21196
a 3rd gen is about £30...

Is it 4k, I wouldn’t go for non-4k but provided you can get a 4k version I wouldn’t care which processor was inside.

A new remote is £50.
I'll say again - it's worth it for the remote alone.

Thanks everyone I’ll look at apple refurbs I know they are usually ones folk buy and return after using them for 5 mins

I’m 95% set on ordering this tomorrow, upgrade to Max processor, more ram and more storage compared to buying a new M3 Pro direct from Apple. With Apple no longer selling M2 machines I’m not sure how likely finding an equivalent refurb will be.
I’ve only got 3 weeks before the project starts but can always send it back if something else comes up between now and then.
Thanks, man, worked perfectly. Great thing to have in your Mac toolkit!
