Wait, so what is the difference between a mixte and a "ladies" bike?
-
• #67833
Mixte used to be called a "twin lat" BITD, because it had twin lateral down tubes. The twin lat moniker faded into obscurity to be overtaken by mixte. Here in the UK they were ladies frames, lightweight and mainly aimed as light tourers / demi-course.

If you just look at the tubes and where they are used it will be obvious.
The best "Mixte" I ever rode was the original On-One Fatty - Wow, what a superb ride, on 4" or 30mm tyres.

Seeing that made me long for a Ritchey Commando again

Pete Matthews Pianni Race Bike - FULL Campag but rusty - £100 BiN Nottingham.
On a closer look, I think the frame is rusted too badly, and the parts appear to be Chorus.

A bargain SOMA here - DA chainset is wild. Seems like it's all for a good cause too.
Yeah I don't really like the look of that. Only half of the nut gripping the dropout.
