Selling my cream colored steamroller. Was sold to me as a 53cm, but having measured it is is clearly a 56cm. Has a TT of ~56cm CTC, ST of ~56cm (top of seat tube to center of bb) and a head tube of ~13.5cm. All of this lines up with surly’s geo of a 56.
The good:
-Drive train is in good working condition, comes with 18t Sturmy archer freewheel. Rear wheel is flipflop fixed/free.
-Has nice front and rear Tektro R538 brakes with relatively new pads on them
-Is very much a bike! Rides fine, rolls well, stops, etc.
The eh:
-Front rim has a slight dent and is slightly out of true. It is also white. The wheel is a Condor 60th anniversary hub/rim, probably just a rebranded Miche?
-Saddle is quite ugly
-The jackbrown tires (30cm) are starting to go bald but still have some life in them
-The paint has seen better days
-The cockpit setup is currently neither nice on the eyes nor ergonomics
The bad:
-The seat post is quite stuck. I tried soaking it with some plus gas for a few weeks, @coventry_eagle gave a go at trying to pull it for a bit, and also a shop with a BB mounted puller tried — all to no avail. I’ve talked to Winston Vaz and he quoted ~£55 to get it out with heat and to repaint that area. I would go ahead and do this, but the bike doesn't fit me well and if you are going to do that it might as well get a respray and some QOL braze ons (fender mounts, maybe cable guides if running it freewheel) added on. I think that such decisions are probably best for someone who will actually use the bike.
All that in mind, im asking for £100 for it all. Price seems reasonable to me but do let me know if you think I’m out of my mind. I am based up in N8, can bring it down centrally / wherever if you add 5£ onto this price so I can get home after.
