What does formalish mean?
The last set of work shirts I got were on sale from TML and CT. I took all but one of the CT ones back - they're really cutting costs now, fewer front buttons, thinner collar stiffness, fabric not as nice, QC issues. In contrast TML seem to have brought their quality back up to where it used to be years ago.
I'm on the look out for cotton button down shirts - basically a cheaper version of the classic Ralph Lauren ones.

It's for a wedding so not quite a full dress shirt but deffo not an Oxford. This is what I have and like - stiff collar, nice cut and pleated cuff detail. Just in *cough, a size larger. Because of the gym obvs, not middle age at all.

This is really disappointing if so, about CT. Ive got a ton of white shirts (wear a suit every day for work) and they have always been my go to, the extra slim are a great cut and they were always so hard wearing and come up really bright after a wash etc. Havent replaced any for a while as I just have a wardrobe of them but was needing a couple more.
I thought TML went bust? They were always really wrinkly, even after an iron, so never my favourite option.
Formal-ish nice white shirts? In the past I'd nip up to Bicester and get a Brooks Brothers but it would appear they've vanished in the wake of Brexit.
