What, doesn't your car have the fake engine sound through the stereo system ;)
Actually if you have the standard exhaust and intake does it sound like an old American V8?

My personal view is you are better keeping the £395 and putting it to anything that might go wrong. On a 60k, 8 year old car you would be unlucky for anything significant to fail in a year. service items like brake pads and discs won't be included anyway.

is dealer warranty same as insurance but protects your no claims bonus?
No. It's to cover the cost of repairs to the car if it breaks down rather than accident damage. However, as pifko correctly says, they're almost invariably not worth the paper they're written on due to all the caveats and exemptions. They're mostly useful to the dealer in any attempt to wriggle out of liability of the car blows up the day after they've sold it.

Here you go, 6 mins of bad chat and 2 little bits of noise

• #77582
Give it a few mins because it's lowest quality at the moment, still processing fully

Have you checked the cars MOT history? What is the service history like, is there any is it dealer etc.
Look at what the warranty includes and you know that you can buy warranty from other companies.
If European breakdown is included look at if it is local repair or repatriate.

Definitely, last year a woman drove her Range Rover in to the back of my freshly restored E30, I was horrified after the shunt seeing a Range Rover grille in my rear view mirror, she was wearing flip flops and got them caught and braked late.
I was very luck the bumper absorbed the impact and I managed to polish out the scratches and only needed a new light lense and bumper mounts.

You miss spelt dangerous driver
Old guys in Eltham and then new Eltham trashed my E30 (when E30 were nothing and a base 316) and my dodgy German import golf MK2 GTi when they were worth little.
Both got their slippers stuck by the accelerator.

Must be the area, this was in Sidcup , Maidstone Road, she paid cash, obviously didn't want her insurance knowing she was in flip flops.

Would you consider a boxter? According to some Aussie dude on the internet they are basically the same car.

They’re essentially the same from the middle of the car forwards but there are significant differences if you look toward the rear.
Try putting a couple of (very small) people in the back seats of a Cayman.

A Boxter/Cayman would be great but one reason for the window of opportunity is that I have 2 nippers that will currently fit in the back of a 911 for the odd trip when needed - 4 seats is a requirement.
Been reading up more on the bore score issue on the 996 and also roof issues with the Targa which seem insanely expensive to fix if needed.
Enjoying the R53 mini again after a simple fix sorted an intermittent starting issue (£27 ignition switch) and just gave it an oil change after 4k - I got one of those oil extractors, so good! Topside oil changes now ftw, oil filter is fairly easy to get to from the top too. Also discovered that the Ultragauge I fitted (car has no gauges!) has a performance mode where you can’t time a 0-60 etc so obvs had to turn the traction off and light up the PS5's a bit. Pretty hard getting a good launch in a fwd only managed a few tries so I'm sure it could do better but I thought I'd quit while I still had a clutch.

Yeah why not? But don't expect to get two kids and an adult in the back.
Gut instinct is that a Passat or Superb is a more comfortable ride though.

I only have one child and the % of time I need to have the back seat full is not worth the larger/heavier car. Boot space is on a par with the C Max, 0-60 in under 7 seconds, 4 fold improvement on fuel economy, 6 speed DSG over 3 speed wafty Ford auto, well reviewed when it was released. I'm 99% sold, just can't get to the dealer until next Tuesday.

Don't people just put a deposit down to secure it, then view?

FWIW the 1.5TSI isn't a slouch either, plenty of those about and no VRS tax. No rush I'd have thought, unless there's something specific to that one you are after.
Dealer warranty will be full of caveats and exclusions. What's the value of the car?
