Have you seen the video of live at Pompeii?
The band members being interviewed spouted some utter dribble especially as I didn't see it till the early 90s when they had definitely changed.
I went to the same university (then a poly) and spent many hours in the university student bar where they first played (allegedly) Only nus bar to be issued with noise abaitment notices too. At the time.

Shit take. They were the cutting edge of improvisation live and wrote brilliant whimsical British Psychedelic Pop songs too.
