I thought Londoners voted for the transferable vote system
I don't remember there being a vote. There was a national vote on AV vs FPTP a while ago, and from what I remember of it then much of the press was focused on AV not being as good as STV, rather than AV being better than FPTP. So it ended up getting trounced

Yeah I remember that one. The messaging was crap. It could've been actually something good to come out of the coalition.

Nick Clegg got out-manouvred by his Tory coalition 'partners'. The option we were allowed to vote on would have given elected members of the revised Upper House 15 year terms. The revised Upper House was never meant to be a retirement home for failed/aged politicians.
