On Strava wankers.
I’m on Coll this week, have to do an interval run, thought I’ll try snipe some KOMs as it’s hard to get to and it’s funny.
Checked them and decided it wasn’t for me. So I’m going to be the grown up (who isn’t fast enough)

I'm selling some Inov8 Trailfly G270. They have had 25km walking and 10km running done on them. They are too small for me. UK11 EU45.5. £50inc postage?

fell victim to the c25k week 3/4 runners knee curse so took a week off as it didn't get worse over time but still took ages to feel better, walking overly long seemed to aggravate it too. so was frustrating.
Now taking a week off the plan to just make up some less structured intervals and add in recoveries when I feel they're needed so I can get back to running on feel a bit more and know when i'm overdoing it. will resume the plan next week though as still need a bit of a framework to get me there I think.
just keen to be back to running 5k consistently now though.

Jeez! Was that at a race or just a solo TT?

A race with a 45min lunch break 👍

Haha, didn’t see that part.

How are they. Bonkers?

Did a test run in them yesterday. 4:04/km at 145bpm.
Nice to run in, hard to walk down stairs in.

Running is mostly wondering if you just need to warm up and you’ll feel better or wondering if you’ll ever move comfortably again.
This is brilliant

For me at the moment, the movement of running feels fine, but my knackered ankle aches for hours or even days afterwards. 4 miles today in 36 mins and every twist of the bad one hurts

It’s done. Bit windy out there today which made some of the loops a bit tricky but woke up feeling ready to give this a proper go.
Just need to do it at an actual race.

Hydration/nutrition?

That's some pace! Looks like you were running next to the A road? Mad mental toughness too!
-
• #30145
Yeah even more impressive given the road conditions and multiple traffic lights etc.
Nice little treat of the circuits in Little Ilford/Manor Park.
Bodes very well for a closed road attempt!

Thanks all, my legs are fully hurting today which is usually a sign of effort.
Hydration was just one of those 800 sports bottles with an SIS electrolyte. Few swigs every now and then but no gulps.
Nutrition for me is always just dried dates (watch out for the stones). I brought 8 with me but used 7, popping in 3 at roughly 10km, 20km and 30km. I do find them the ideal fuel and they are generally convenient other than leaving your pockets a bit sticky.Yeah, route was from Manor Park out to Victoria park, tried a clockwise loop but the wind made the long path a bit hard so switched to anti-clockwise.
Carried on there until around 28km then headed back down along the A118/Mile End and Romford Road (traffic lights and Bow roundabout all went in my favour, plus Saturday morning is quieter) with the intention of smashing out the final bits up and down the long avenues around Manor Park but the wind was too strong heading south on those and I was loosing time/getting very tired so let the wind take me to Valentines Park. When I got there, it was the tail end of Parkrun with the walkers doing their final bit so there was a funny moment running past a confused looking marshall at 4:04/km.
Was actually really nice to finish amongst other runners.
Sat for a minute and then hobbled home and did childcare. -

That’s a mad solo effort on open roads with zero support! I’m in awe!

This is the part that really blows my mind

^ This.
Sub 18 5km should be a doddle too once you've recovered a bit. (Re: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17336995/)

My last double digit run today. Only my 2nd "compete" not complete marathon plan in 21yrs of running and way better prep than 2009 looking at the training logs / mileage.
Thinking 6m45 mile splits might be possible, but so may variables on the day mean 3h05 to 2h55 finish window most likely if nothing goes wrong.
🤦🏻
