  • i have a dustpan & brush you could sweep up that plastic frame into the bin with.

  • Soz just being silly. Dunno who would sort this. Maybe araldite would be fine?

  • That surface needs to be clean and flat, then use the depth gauge on a vernier against the hanger screws to see how proud they sit; the bit of replacement metal needs to be a tad thicker than that dimension.

Making a replacement out of a bit of suitable SS plate would be pretty easy. A dab of epoxy, clamp it in place with the wheel, let it set, voila.

Problem is with this dropout, the poorly placed hanger screws. The replacement will eventually fall off too, because the clamping compression will tend to make it bend slightly at the skinny part where it goes past that back screw.

... Hang on, now I have another look, it wasn't a simple flat piece, was it. There was a part of it which projected back all the way through, which the axle sat in. Hmm.

How old is the frame? What brand?

If you can't source a replacement, you need to have a 3D model of the part made. Then you can just send it to some mob like PCBWay who can CNC it for you. Actually it's a simple enough part, that maybe if you just make a drawing with accurate enough dimensions, they can do the CAD too.

  • Have this sorted now ,spoke to someone at Carbon Fibre Solutions and they are sending me 2 dropout inserts free of charge they wouldn't even take any money for post.
